Turkey Time
Thanksgiving snuck up on us, for me at least. One minute it's all: politics, politics, politics, the next it's all: what are you doing for Thanksgiving? I don't know about you, but I don't have much of an appetite. Americans will likely refrain from talking politics at the table, unless they're ready for an all out family war. This is what it would be like in my family anyway, as we're an outspoken and opinionated bunch, with never a dull moment in our dinner conversations and opposing sides of politics to boot, eek. Not a good mixture, so banning politics at the door is best, for a peaceful, enjoyable, holiday meal. This year, I have many things to give thanks too, here are but a few...
Family is first and foremost, with the well-being of my boy at the very top of the list. While my family is opinionated and outspoken, I wouldn't want them any other way. I'll also add loving, loyal, caring, generous and amazing to that list of descriptors.
Health. After being told you have cancer, only those of us who have gone through this or some other type of illness can understand, it's always top of mind, so truly thankful for health. It's no fun dealing with health problems and for anyone who's going through it now, I wish positive, loving energy for you.
Friends. My greatest are the ones I feel the same connection that I do with my sisters, an extended family. This past year, one up and moved on me to Luxembourgh :/ Another moved a little bit closer to me, just enough to make it easier to visit each other, another is smack in the middle of new babyland - no sleep, poopy diapers, feeding time - another is past new baby stage and into toddlerville / poddy training and another is into kid stage living right where I remember her and another is going through a major life transition.
Last but not least, I am grateful to have readers, so thank you! I'm interested in hearing what you're most thankful for this Thanksgiving holiday, even if you don't celebrate it, it's a chance to give thanks.
*Have the happiest, most wonderful Thanksgiving*
peace&love, xxxx
