You Can't Win Them All

So a few don't want to be on your team? Oh well, their loss, let them go. I love idioms or word art as they are defined. They can be funny and truthful at the same time and they "cut to the chase." We're all good at using them, but what do they really mean?

Be yourself. This is always a good one. Yes be yourself, but what if your real self is a mean, hateful person? Then by all means, please don't be yourself and be someone else. No one wants to hang out with someone who always has something negative to say.

If you don't succeed try again. If you don't, figure out why you didn't, then try again. You can't just keep doing the same thing over and over again the same way, because you'll fail again. Fix what went wrong and then try again.

If you love something set it free. If you do, it may high tail on out. Why does the thing want to be free? The "something" is referring to a person. It may just be out of your control. Look inward for an answer though and work through it. If "it" still wants to be free after that, then send it off. You'll free it knowing you tried your best, and that's all we can do.

Blood is thicker than water. It is but if someone in the family wants to betray the blood (a.k.a. love), they turn into water and even air. Just because someone is a family member, doesn't mean we have to love them. If they are very difficult and make it clear they don't want your love, it's ok to not give it to them. They can come around when they're ready, until then wish them well and live your life.

Fixed in your ways. If you are, how will you grow? There is so much world out there, why would anyone want to get fixed into a certain way? It's ok to change your routine, in fact it's healthy to do so. It's ok to change your political opinion, after looking at the other point of view. It's ok understand other religious, cultures and ethnicities and even embrace them if you like them.

Don't count your chickens before they hatch. If the hen isn't producing the chickens to be hatched, there's a problem with the hen. The chickens will come out of a well working hen.

It takes two to tango. It takes two to screw things up too. No one person is ever at fault in relationships. Regardless of how one may truly believe it's the other person who is at fault, it's never the case.

When all is said and done, every cloud has its silver lining. So get over it, go with your gut feeling and let bygones be bygones. It's all water under the bridge anyway. Your guess is as good as mine, as to what this all means. Maybe it's all a blessing in disguise. Eighty six that, hold your horses and I'll try and make sense of it all.
