Girls, Music & Whiskey On The LES

Winter has officially come to an end -- welcome Spring -- such a beautiful season. It's already 40 degrees outside, so it looks like it's going to be a good day...I won't even have to use my A.K. (I used this music reference once with my sister and she wrote back "WHAT?"). Hint: you put them into margaritas in the Summer.

Back to the lecture at hand (now I'm getting ridiculous). Hint: Long Beach. Last evening, I was invited to visit my deejay friend spin at Sons of Essex on the Lower East Side. It's a new Wednesday party and I went to support, because that's what friends do. Also, I happen to love Sons of Essex. The food is always delicious, the atmosphere is warm and inviting with a vibe that is "very New York." The party starts at 7, which is perfect for people who like to socialize in the earlier hours.

This was the first time I saw DJ Nicole Rose in her element. Despite the cold, pouring rain outside, the place was packed and Nicole mixed up some good tunes. There was an open bar from 7 to 9 for Nicole's list, with Wodka vodka, Alibi whiskey and Stella Artois sponsoring. We opted for the Alibi, not a bad whiskey at all. I could get pretty nerdy here and describe the whiskey and its production process, but I'll spare you from that.

If you live in New York and are looking for something fun on a Wednesday evening, check out Sons of Essex.
